Perineoplasty (perineal aesthetics), a common type of genital surgery, is an operation to aesthetically correct the perineal region. The perineum is the area between the vaginal opening and the anus. Perineoplasty can be performed alone or simultaneously with vaginal tightening procedures, and is carried out to correct irregularities in the perineal region that occur after childbirth.
Why does the perineal area become irregular?
The perineal area often becomes irregular after childbirth. The failure of episiotomies (incisions made during delivery) to heal properly causes irregularities in the perineal area. This procedure removes healed episiotomy scars, leaving either a depression or a raised area, and improves the aesthetic appearance of the region.
Traumatic births, difficult births due to large babies or pelvic narrowing, assisted births with vacuum extraction, and infection or dehiscence of episiotomy stitches during delivery can also cause perineal irregularities.
Advantages of Perineoplasty
Perineoplasty is a surgical procedure that helps women with perineal irregularities feel better about themselves aesthetically. Furthermore, since poorly healed episiotomy scars can sometimes cause pain and discomfort during sexual intercourse, the operation helps eliminate this complaint as well. Perineal correction surgery is not only performed on women who have given birth. Perineoplasty can also be performed on women who have not given birth and who request the removal of skin folds between the vagina and anus.
Perineoplasty is a surgical procedure that can be performed to improve the aesthetic appearance of the genital area, increase the tightness of the vaginal opening during sexual intercourse, and correct the angle of the vaginal opening to increase clitoral and G-spot stimulation during intercourse.
How is perineoplasty performed?
Perineoplasty is performed under local anesthesia. During the procedure, the skin and subcutaneous tissue in the area are removed in a diamond shape, and the surgery is completed with new sutures. In cases where the perineum tissue has a sunken (inward) appearance, carbon dioxide laser and subcutaneous fat injection applications can also be performed. Perineoplasty, which has many aesthetic and functional benefits, can be performed alone or together with labiaplasty (inner labia aesthetics), clitoral hoodoplasty, vaginal tightening, and perineal aesthetic surgeries in the same session.
