Fibroids are one of the most common gynecological diseases. Fibroids are also known as tumors, tumors and uterine fibroids. Fibroids, which can vary in size from a few millimeters to 20-30 centimeters, can be one or a much larger number. (See : Fibroids in Pregnancy) (for general information about fibroids, the article will be redirected within the site)
The negative effects of fibroids, which are usually not dangerous and can be detected during routine gynecological examinations, may vary depending on where they are located. For example, while some fibroids increase menstrual bleeding, some fibroids can block the birth canal and make vaginal delivery difficult. Also, fibroids that are too large in size can adversely affect the development of the baby. So what are the symptoms that indicate fibroids in the uterus? Let’s examine it together:
Signs that you may have fibroids
1 . Change in Menstrual Pattern
If there is a significant increase in the amount and duration of menstrual bleeding, this may indicate a myoma. Bleeding with clots that gradually prolongs and increases in amount at the same rate, negatively affects social life, and bleeding or spotting during non-menstrual periods in addition to bleeding can be considered as signs of fibroids.
2 . Groin Pain
Fibroids can cause various types of pain depending on their location and size. The pain can be considered as a sign of fibroids, especially since it occurs at different times during ovulation and menstruation. If fibroids grow too fast and the blood supply does not keep up with this growth rate, some fibroid cells may die. This leads to pain in the groin area. The pain is not felt on the right or left side of the groin area, but usually in the center.
3 . Frequent Urination
If there is a need to urinate more than usual, this may also indicate a fibroid. This is often accompanied by a feeling of fullness in the lower abdomen. This is due to the pressure caused by fibroids being close to the bladder area. Sometimes very large fibroids can also cause constipation by pressing on the last part of the intestine.
4 . Palpable swelling and hardness in the abdomen
In this symptom, which is usually a harbinger of large or multiple fibroids, a palpable swelling and hardness is seen on the pubic bone in the front. Sometimes this swelling can be confused with weight gain, but if the swelling and hardness do not decrease despite weight loss, it would be the best behavior to be examined by a doctor without panic.
If you observe one or more of the above symptoms, I recommend that you get examined immediately. After gynecological examination and ultrasound examination, your doctor will make the appropriate diagnosis and guide you in the right way for treatment.
